14 Mar Public Sector Data and GDPR Summit 2018
The 2018 Public Sector Data and GDPR summit marked the coming together of central government department heads, leaders from local government and representatives from public organisations to explore GDPR, data compliance and protection of personal information. The summit was centred around its key theme of GDPR with speakers from the Information Commissioner’s Office, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Tech UK and leaders from local government and county councils.
Being the first annual event, the summit focussed on evaluation of innovative solutions to address the challenges of the GDPR. It was exciting to meet representatives from the public sector and their approach to address these challenges. The summit uncovered exhibitors offering different solutions addressing specific dimensions of the GDPR such as Data Mapping, e discovery, GDPR consultancy services and IT security. Considering the depth and breadth of information in the public sector, it was exciting to see the inclination towards a holistic solution in the form of a Privacy Management Software.
We were thrilled to meet representatives from diverse sectors such as health, defence, aerospace and understand their approach towards achieving compliance and protecting personal information. Understanding the large amounts of data held, processed and updated in these organisations, GDPR provides an opportunity to categorise data in a purposeful manner. The requirement of a software solution to address these concerns was a common theme through the summit. At Data Solver, we are committed to address challenges of GDPR through a user-friendly software and a holistic approach towards the GDPR.
